With a historic 82% turnout, the membership of Local 82162 has voted to accept the final contract offered by the company. With a vote held at the Berglund Center, the membership has agreed to the following highlighted demands:
- 6% wage increase on contract acceptance across all labor grades, then 4% wage increases per year for the length of the contract.
- Shift differentials are moved from $0.50 and $0.75 per hour on second shift and third shift respectively to $1.00 and $1.25.
- Vacation has been transitioned into an accrual system.
- Bargaining unit employees will now immediately begin accruing vacation as soon as they have left the probationary period.
- Each tier of the vacation policy will get one more day than they are typically used to.
- No penalties to accrual will occur unless an employee takes a leave of longer than 6 months on long term disability.
- The shutdown vacation policy has been removed, members are now allowed to choose whether to use their vacation during shutdown or not.
- A letter of intent secures the right to Juneteenth and Veterans Day as holidays when the corporate structure of Elbit America adds them
- New hires will now receive 2 personal days once they leave the probationary period. Bargaining unit employees who are currently under their first year but over 4 months will immediately receive 1 personal day.
- Bargaining Unit employees are now entitled to 4 weeks of paid maternity and paternity leave.
- Step 1 on the pay schedule has been removed, meaning that it now takes 3 months less to top out at top pay. Employees who are currently making their way to top pay will be automatically bumped up to the next available step.
- Power supply has been moved from labor grade 5/7 to labor grade 4/5. Porter has been moved from labor grade 7/6 to labor grade 7/5
- Maximum matching contribution on employees 401k has been increased from 5% to 10%.
- Insurance premiums will increase, on average, $4 a week per year of the contract.
