Education Committee
Communicate to the membership the roles and functions of the Union itself, by creating and distributing educational materials. Teach newer members how and why the Union works.
Legislative-Political Committee
Perform political duties as a representative of the union, either by advocating to local politicians bills that would help the membership, or by advocating to the membership to engage in political activities.
Safety/Health Committee
Oversee and report on safety standards within the plant, and advocate for the membership in meetings with the company. Keep an eye out for potential or pressing safety hazards.
Trade Skills Committee
Oversees the companies utilization of its skilled labor force, the protection of the significance of the skilled labor jobs. Jobs such as Calibrations, Maintenance, etc. Help the membership obtain certifications and further education.
Newsletter/Website Committee
Write, edit, and distribute the Union newsletter, and update the Union’s Website. Investigate things of interest to the membership, and inform the membership of the goings on of the plant.
Committee on Equity
Investigates and seeks justice against discriminatory policies including but not limited to; age, race, religion, and gender. Also looks into ways the Union can support amd encourage all groups within the union.
Membership Committee
Oversees the acceptance of new membership, keeps ups with membership numbers, and administrates the entrance of new members into the Union.
Organizing Committee
Focuses on the growth the Union. This includes the internal mission of signing up all non-union members of the plant’s bargaining unit, as well as expansion of that bargaining unit. Will also work towards establishing new locals outside of the plant in collaboration with the National Union.
Election Committee
Handles the operation, organization, and administration of official election held by the local to federally mandated standards.
Community Service
Organize events such as fundraisers and outreach for the local community and the Union. Establish and oversee charity drives within the membership.
